On-site Commuter Programs

TransAction Associates was the first consulting firm in Massachusetts to specialize in the design and implementation of on-site employer commuting programs. Our company offers customized Commuter Benefit Programs with staff who work in a part-time or full-time basis at the work site.  We understand that every program must be uniquely crafted to fit the culture, needs and budgets of our clients.  To do this, we generally survey employees and build collaborative relationships with our clients that allow us to provide the best service for each client’s needs.  Our programs offer employees a range of commuting options or incentives that help them access the most efficient, cost-effective method of getting to work.

Transportation Management Associations

TransAction Associates has experience in forming TMAs and has provided staff to manage TMAs for more than 17 years. TransAction currently operates two TMAs and has established seven organizations.  Our experienced staff can manage the day-to-day operations of the TMA, develop and implement an ongoing marketing effort to promote the use of alternatives to driving alone to work, recruit members, and advocate at the local and state level for improved transportation services or infrastructure.  For example, TransAction played a key role in bringing the business community and municipal officials together through the North Suburban TMA to successfully lobby the Massachusetts legislature to widen the Route 3 corridor from Burlington to the Nashua, New Hampshire, border.  Some of the TMAs that the company has started and/or managed include the Logan Airport TMA, the Neponset Valley TMA, the Merrimack Valley TMA, Seacoast Commuter Options, and the MetroWest/495 TMA.

Transit Pass Programs

TransAction staff manages small to large-scale employer transit pass programs to help promote the use of public transportation.  We coordinate the tracking, ordering and distribution of appropriate passes for all transit carriers including the MBTA (MA), Valley Metro (AZ), Tri-Met (WA), regional transit authorities, and private carriers.
